A day out with the boys and girls

Gary, Peter and Tim three of the guys I'm doing the trip with, out on a coastal walk in Anchorage, the bikes are being cleared today through customs, we pick them up tomorrow, then we can get about and explore the area.

Peter and I in matching coats, nice!

Look closely at this picture and you'll see a bald eagle sat minding his own business
Peter, Gary, Tim, and Liz the only single woman doing the whole trip

Just to prove I'm here

I realise that I haven't appeared on any of the photos in Anchorage, so here's one just to prove I am actually here. Its the train station in the back ground. I've had to take this picture myself because I'm billy no mates at the moment, although quite a few of the guys arrive today. Its raining as well.

The Bike a BMW R1200GS Adventurer before shipping

This is the bike I'll be doing the trip on. Its a BMW R1200GS Adventurer, the same bike Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman rode on the "Long way down". It gets flown to Anchorage Alaska on the 6th July. It has odd tyres, a road tyre on the rear and a knobbly on the front. The first part of the trip is on loose surfaces, so the knobbly will help with grip on the front.
